Road route santiago in the term of Sahagún
Sahagún, is located in the geographical center of the Camino de Santiago and is the most representative crossroads because here come together the way French with the Camino de Madrid.
Here lie the remains of four of his wives and King Alfonso sixth, which issued the pilgrimages to Santiago and encouraged the construction of shelters and hospitals along the route. Sahagún is declared historical artistic in 1975 and has four monuments declared Cultural Interest, The Church of San Lorenzo, San tirso church, the sanctuary of the pilgrim and the tower and ruins of the monastery of San Benito. The pilgrim, today as a museum and interpretive center houses a set of Mudejar plasterwork delicate composition. In Sahagún we can also visit the Museum of Sacred Art of the Benedictine Mothers in the Convent of Santa Cruz and the Museum of Holy Week in the Chapel of Jesus Nazareno. The villa has an exclusive municipal shelter for pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago with sixty-four squares, kitchen, bathrooms and communal showers as well as washer, dryer and Wi-Fi. The villa has municipal campsite which occupies a total area of 2.9 hectares. It has capacity for 600 people with a total of 200 plots from 60 to 80 meters, with floor grass and plenty of shade.
